Why the KSQ Area GOP Needs Your Monthly Support — And Why Now

There's a question we hear at almost every Republican gathering in Kennett Square, Kennett Township, and New Garden Township. It comes from frustrated neighbors, longtime conservatives, and brand-new Republicans alike. It goes something like this:

"Why does it feel like Democrats keep winning around here?"

It's a fair question. And the answer isn't complicated — even if it's uncomfortable to say out loud.

They out-organize us. They out-fund us. And they don't stop working between elections.

That ends now — but only if you help us end it.

The Ground Has Shifted in Chester County

Chester County was once reliably Republican territory. Today, it's a different story.

Democrats have taken over the county commission. They've made steady inroads on school boards across the region. They control every seat on Kennett Square Borough Council. And they are actively recruiting and funding candidates to run against Republicans in local races that most voters barely notice — precisely because they know most voters barely notice.

This didn't happen by accident. It happened because the left built an infrastructure — a year-round, well-funded, professionally organized operation — while too many Republicans treated politics as something you paid attention to in October of even-numbered years.

We're not saying that to assign blame. We're saying it because understanding the problem is the first step to solving it.

And the solution starts right here, in Area 17.

What the KSQ Area GOP Actually Does

The Area 17 Republican Committee covers Kennett Square Borough, Kennett Township, and New Garden Township. We are a volunteer-driven, grassroots organization — one of the most local levels of the Republican Party structure in Pennsylvania.

That means we're not a distant county headquarters or a national committee sending you fundraising emails from Washington. We are your neighbors. We live on your streets, shop at your stores, and send our kids to your schools.

Here's what your support enables us to do:

👉Recruit and support local candidates. The biggest challenge in local Republican politics isn't the general election — it's finding good people willing to run. We identify, recruit, encourage, and support candidates for borough council, township supervisor, school board, and other offices that directly affect your daily life. That work costs money: filing fees, yard signs, literature, and the dozens of small expenses that add up fast for first-time candidates without deep pockets.

👉Knock doors and make calls — year-round. The Democrats aren't waiting for fall. Neither are we. Voter contact between elections is what moves registration numbers, identifies persuadable voters, and builds the relationships that win races. Every piece of literature, every door knocked, every call made is funded by contributions like yours.

👉Register new Republican voters. Chester County's political future depends on expanding the Republican electorate, not just turning out the same voters cycle after cycle. Voter registration drives take people, materials, and time. Your monthly gift funds all three.

👉Show up at community events and meetings. Politics isn't just campaigns. It's showing up at township supervisor meetings when bad ordinances are being proposed. It's being at the school board when parents need backup. It's having a visible, credible Republican presence in our community every single week. That work is quiet, unglamorous, and essential.

Why Monthly Giving Changes Everything

Most political organizations — including ours, frankly — are funded in spurts. Money comes in during election season, then dries up. That feast-and-famine cycle is exactly why local Republican committees struggle to build lasting infrastructure.

When you make a monthly recurring gift, you break that cycle.

A monthly donor who gives $25 a month contributes $300 a year — far more than most one-time donors, and far more consistently. That predictable funding means we can plan, hire, and execute year-round rather than scrambling every October.

Think of it this way: the Democrats' local operation doesn't take an off-season. Your monthly gift means ours doesn't either.

We've set up four simple giving tiers so you can choose the level that's right for you:

  • Patriot — $10/month. The cost of a couple of coffees. A real, meaningful contribution that adds up to $120 a year invested in your community.

  • Defender — $25/month. Our most popular tier. Funds a precinct captain's materials for a month. $300 a year making a genuine difference.

  • Champion — $50/month. Funds a voter registration drive or a targeted mail piece. $600 a year of serious local impact.

  • Leader — $100+/month. For those who are ready to step up in a major way. Your investment at this level is transformational for a grassroots committee like ours.

There's no minimum. There's no contract. You can cancel anytime. But we hope once you see what consistent support makes possible, you won't want to.

"But Does My $25 Really Matter?"

We hear this, too. And we understand the skepticism. You've probably given to political causes before and wondered where the money actually went.

Here's what we can tell you: at the local level, small amounts of money have an outsized impact. We're not running TV ads or paying D.C. consultants. We're printing door hangers, buying yard signs, and covering the filing fee for a first-time candidate who wouldn't otherwise run. A $25 donation to a national committee is a drop in the ocean. A $25 donation to the KSQ Area GOP is a precinct captain's supply kit.

Local politics is the most direct democracy there is. Your township supervisor vote carries more weight than your presidential vote. Your school board vote shapes what your grandchildren learn. And the dollars you give to your local Republican committee have a more direct, traceable impact on those outcomes than almost anything else you can do politically.

The Stakes in 2026 and Beyond

The 2026 midterm elections will shape the political landscape in Pennsylvania for years to come. State legislative races, local judicial elections, and a host of local offices will be on the ballot. Democrats are already organizing. They're already raising money.

They're already identifying their candidates.

Are we? With your support, yes. Without it — it's a much harder fight.

Chester County doesn't have to keep trending left. Kennett Square doesn't have to stay under one-party Democrat control. New Garden Township doesn't have to become the next target for developers and their Democrat allies. But turning the tide requires resources, and resources require people like you to step up.

This is your community. These are your schools, your roads, your tax dollars, your neighbors. Nobody is coming from outside to save this place. It's up to us — the people who live here, who care about this corner of Chester County — to do the work.

A Final Word

Ronald Reagan said that freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction — that it has to be fought for, protected, and handed on to the next generation. That's as true in Kennett Square as it is anywhere in America.

The KSQ Area GOP is the front line of that fight in our community. We're a small committee with big responsibilities and neighbors who deserve strong, principled, fiscally responsible Republican leadership at every level of local government.

We can't do it without you.

Please give today. Give monthly. And help us build the kind of year-round Republican operation that Chester County's conservatives deserve.
